Jung spoke about the Egyptian motif of the solar barge being seen as the typical movements of the sun. In Egyptian mythology, the sun god would carry the sun across the sky in a solar barge protecting the sun against Apophsis, the Egyptian God of chaos. Jung believed this motif represented the attempt to free the ego (the sun) from the grip of the unconscious (chaos). I believe therapy can be a vessel to help free yourself from the grips of the unconscious.
