Hey, I’m Dennis.

MA, LPC (he, him, his)

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) dedicated to helping people find and become the best versions of themselves. Passionate about facilitating long lasting and fulfilling change, I utilize a mixture of psychodynamic therapy, attachment theory, existential therapy, somatic therapy, and depth psychology through relational work with clients online, in office, in nature, and with the assistance of psychedelics.

I am the owner and therapist at Solar Barge Psychotherapy providing experiential talk therapy and psychedelic therapy in the Wheat Ridge, nature therapy in Boulder, Broomfield, North Denver areas, as well as online throughout Colorado.

I’ve been on this path of helping myself and others heal for over a decade, grounded in a deep practice of philosophical and spiritual living.

I was always an inquisitive child, which led me to finding psychology and philosophy at a young age and eventually to getting my BA in Psychology and Philosophy from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After getting my undergraduate degree, I found my love for the outdoors while visiting Colorado and decided to make the move West to work for the Mental Health Center of Denver and to begin my graduate career at University of Colorado Denver, graduating with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

During my time at UC Denver, I had the opportunity to work with the Multidiscplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) on their Phase 2/3 studies on the efficacy of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD and to participate in the Horizons: Perspectives on Psychedelics conference in New York.

Since then, I’ve continued my studies in somatic and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy by completing an 8-week intensive training with Innate Path receiving my certification in Psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.

In my free time, I enjoy exploring the outdoors, dancing to anything from bluegrass to electronic music, playing video games, and spending quality time with my fiancé and best cat buddy Dexter.

What clients are saying

“I was scared and not sure I was ready to confront what I had been hiding for yeasr, but I knew I needed help. I was paired with Dennis, I had never seen a male therapist and was hesitant. But being uncomfortable is part of growth, so I started with him. I am so happy I did! I worked with Dennis from 8 months, and the change in myself is immense. He helped me find the tools I was searching for to live my life in a healthy way.

What kept you coming back to therapy?
“My therapist, Dennis. I’ve never felt like I connected with a therapist before, and thought that therapy just wasn’t for me. Dennis helped changed that view. No matter how stressed or overwhelmed I was feeling, he always created a comfortable space for me to relax and talk through my stressors. He was nonjudgmental and made me feel safe to share what was truly on my mind.”
